You will have up to 3 minutes to speak. A good turnout is the best and last chance to stop this. This is when the final vote is made, determining the outcome of this project.
It is rumored to potentially be August 10th, 2026. The agenda and participation instructions will be posted at MalibuCity.org/AgendaCenter once the date and time is selected and fully finalized.

The purpose of this "pilot project" is to install roundabouts and begin removing car lanes in Malibu so that PCH is a single lane in each direction.
Once they remove lanes here, they intend to extend this "pilot" beyond this area. There is an upcoming PCH repaving project which presents the opportunity to do this.
To start, the first two roundabouts like this will be installed on Pacific Coast Highway.
The first is at El Matador State Beach parking lot. The second is at Encinal Canyon Road.
Before each roundabout, cars are expected to slow from 55 MPH to 15 MPH for the roundabouts and merge into a single lane. This will cause massive backups and congestion.
Single lane roundabouts only allow one car through at a time. If the roundabout is full, cars are forced to stop.
New METAL POLES for lights and crosswalks are being put in the MIDDLE OF THE EXISTING HIGHWAY. This presents a fatal hazard if cars don't slow down in time and lose control.
After you exit the roundabout, PCH is one lane and speeds are 35 mph, creating further congestion.
This is the next roundabout. Cars will need to slow to 15 mph again or come to a complete stop, depending on traffic.
PCH will be permanently gridlocked if this "one lane" PCH plan is carried out and extended down the coast.
